There are hundreds of choices available to you in the use of stone.

Stone varies depending on its geology, colour, dimensions, age and how it has been finished.  When you use stone one of the most important considerations is the person who builds it.  A high quality stone can be ruined by bad building and a good stone mason can turn an average quality stone into a beautiful piece of building work.

When you choose stone for your building work you should choose carefully. The reasons for this are:

  1. The wrong choice could be a potentially un-affordable mistake to rectify.
  2. To avoid disputes between building contractors and clients over specifications.
  3. Stone creates a value greater than its function.
  4. The legacy you create from stone will be likely to last for hundreds of years.

Please use our stone guide to help you choose whether you should use stone and what sort of stone you should use for a particular purpose.

  • Blue grey face sawn stone 150mm (palletised)

This is a Cornish stone from Lantoom Quarry. The building face is a blue grey face which is a sawn finish. The back face of the stone is also sawn to give a 150mm (nominal) bed depth. The stone is suitable for both traditional and contemporary designs and can be used for interior and exterior walls. As you can see from the pictures, face heights of each stone vary and so this is most commonly built with a random uncoursed pattern. The price is for 1 tonne of stone. Please note that this product is often in high demand and for this reason is sometimes subject to long lead times. Learn More
