We supply granite walling which has an attractive colour and texture. It is suitable both for masonary walling and for earth bound hedges.In the picture above cropped granite has been used. In this case, the builder has selected the squarest pieces of stone in order to build it as a coursed pattern instead of a random pattern. In the picture below, cropped granite has been used to build a low garden dry stone wall. We supply two types of granite walling: Cropped and hammered. Cropped granite This granite is cropped to either a 100-150mm (4-6 inch) or 100-200mm (4-8 inch) bed depth to provide a building face. It is suitable for use where the wall is to be built with a random pattern of stonework, and where a narrower bed depth is required than hammered granite (see below)  
The approximate covereage achieved is 3 square metres per tonne for 100-150mm bed depth and 2.5 square metres per tonne for 100-200mm bed depth. If you require a precise bed depth (e.g. 100 mm nominal or more), then we can offer you two other options:  The stone in the picture above has been cropped to a 150mm nominal bed depth and selected to the customer's precise requiements for stone sizes in order to build a coursed stone wall.  The stone in the picture above has been sawn on 5 sides with a 150mm bed depth. The face of the stone has been spilt to give the same finish as cropped stone, but with precise stone sizes suitable for a high quality traditional masonary finish and/or where coursing is required. Hammered granite
  This is random rubble which has been broken into pieces suitable for building. The maximum bed depth of this stone varies from 100mm (4 inch) to 450mm (18 inches). Its approximate coverage is 2.5 square metres per tonne. In the pictures above it has been used to build dry stone walls. In the picture below it is shown used as a paving material and to build walls either side of granite steps.
